It was the desire to make things by hand that led me to study design. Each year, I dedicate time to learning a new craft, a continuous practice that expands my understanding of form, texture, and construction. I love how wood “sweats” when you carve it, how metal fuses in an instant when you solder it. When making things by hand mistakes happen - and I always follow these, as they often lead somewhere more interesting than I first intended.
